Marriage Encounter weekend

St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman will host the next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend, which will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday evening and runs to about 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Worldwide Marriage Encounter invites all married couples to renew the romance, revitalize their marriage, communicate more openly, find deeper intimacy, focus on their spouse, and share the joy. Seminary Live-in Weekend

The diocesan Office of Vocations will host a Seminary Live-in Weekend for men ages 18-35. Father Wyman Vintson, Vicar for Vocations, will lead this visit to the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, where men will have an opportunity to experience the daily life of a seminarian. Saturday, November 9

Cielo Abierto concert

The organization Cielo Abierto is a community of lay Catholic missionaries who use retreats, music, preaching, and Eucharistic adoration to "bring together adoring singers from all over the world to make the Bride (the Church) fall in love with the Groom (Jesus in the Eucharist)." The group will hold a concert at 6 p.m. at Sand Mountain Amphitheater in Albertville, featuring Cristal and Pedro, Kairy Marquez, Caro Ramirez, and Carlos Omar. In the days leading up to the concert, the group will hold nights of adoration where attendees can obtain free tickets to the concert. On Monday, Nov. 4, the group will go to the Chapel of the Holy Cross for Mass at 6 p.m. and adoration at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville will host the group for Mass at 6 p.m. and adoration at 7 p.m. The next day, Wednesday, Nov. 6, the group will go to Fort Payne's Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church for Mass at 5 p.m. and adoration at 6 p.m. On Thursday, Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover will host the group for Mass at 6 p.m. and adoration at 7 p.m. The group's last visit will be Gadsden for Mass at 6 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church and adoration at 7 p.m.

Magnificat Breakfast

The Service Team of Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat will hold its next Magnificat breakfast from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Hall in Homewood. All women of the diocese are invited to attend. The speaker for the morning will be Erin Vicinanzo. Tickets for the breakfast are on sale through Nov. 10. A meal ticket is $20 and includes a catered breakfast. Tickets are available online at BirminghamMagnificat.org or by e-mail at magnificat0296@gmail.com. If purchasing a ticket by regular mail, please send a check payable to Magnificat to: Magnificat Tickets, 2744 Aspen Lake Road, Helena, AL 35022 by Nov. 6. Tickets are also available at Alpha Church Supply and Gifts and Holy Roses Flowers and Gifts. Tickets for priests, deacons, and religious brothers and sisters are complimentary, but reservations are still required. No tickets will be sold after Nov. 10 or at the door. Adoration Sodality Day

The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament will hold an Adoration Sodality Day of Recollection from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will consist of Mass, confession, a spiritual talk, a Eucharistic Healing Service, tours of the shrine and Pope St. John Paul II Eucharistic Center, as well as free breakfast and lunch. Father Edward Looney will be the guest speaker. He is a Marian theologian, Catholic author, and speaker who serves at a parish in the Diocese of Green Bay. This monthly event is free to attend and open to all. The shrine is located at 3224 County Road 548. You do not have to be a member of the Adoration Sodality to attend.
