‘I Love America’ Patriotic Concert

Join St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer for a free, fun, patriotic birthday celebration for our nation. The 8th annual concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Members of the St. Aloysius Choir, along with others from surrounding churches, will lead the audience, singing songs that form the foundation of the United States of America: The Star-Spangled Banner, American the Beautiful, God Bless America, God Bless the U.S.A., and many more. Joining the choir in song will be The Waylighters Gospel Quartet, Voices of the South Barbershop Chorus, and Harmony Hills Chorus. Come see a touching tribute to our armed forces as the Lake View American Legion Post 2011 present the Colors and Service flags from our country and our service men and women. New this year will be the addition of G.R.’s Smokehouse food truck being on site starting at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome. The church is located at 751 Academy Drive.

Annual Pastoral Juvenil Summer Camp

The Office of Hispanic Ministry will hold its Annual Pastoral Juvenil Summer Camp
at Camp Tekakwitha. Young adults ages 18-35 are invited to participate in a recreational weekend of outdoor sports activities, pool time, campfire, and time with Jesus under the stars. Those interested in attending can register at https://forms.gle/eggN4ATFFHuF4fH68.

Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Birmingham 21st annual conference

The 21st annual Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Birmingham Conference will be held in the Family Life Center at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, beginning at 5 p.m. on July 29. The conference will continue the next day at 8 a.m. The conference theme is “Thy Will Be Done.” The main speaker will be Andi Oney along with Fr. Frankline Fomukong and Jackie Smoke. The registration fee for individuals is $25 and $65 for a family of three or more.
