St. Francis University Parish Fish Fry
St. Francis University Parish in Tuscaloosa will host a Fish Fry with two meal times, one at 5:30 p.m. and one at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person and $30 per family. “Encounter with Jesus” Retreat With Father Pedro Nunez
St. Theresa Catholic Church in Leeds will host Father Pedro Nunez for a retreat entitled, “Encounter with Jesus.” Praises, conferences, Holy Mass, a questions and answers session, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will all be offered at the free event. The day will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Father Nunez is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and one of the best known Catholic Hispanic preachers, as he directed the weekly television program "Know your Catholic Faith First" which was transmitted live to more than 350 million homes, more than 145 countries and 16 territories for EWTN. He also directs the radio program "Alone with Jesus" via World Catholic Radio.

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School to present Children of Eden, Jr.
Students of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School (OLV) will present Children of Eden, Jr., beginning Friday night at 7 p.m. in the OLV Life Center. Saturday’s performance will also begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the students will perform at 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $7, seniors and student tickets are $5, and children two and younger are free. Eucharistic Adoration and praise and worship
John Carroll Catholic High School and Arise Ministries will present Eucharistic adoration and praise and worship from 6:30-8:15 p.m. The evening, which will take place at the John Carroll campus, will feature prayer teams, student testimony, and time for confession. Singer and song writer Sarah Kroger will also be featured. The school is located at 300 Lakeshore Pkwy. in Birmingham.

Anniversary of the Death of Bishop David E. Foley
April 17 marked the fourth anniversary of Bishop Foley’s death. Since the anniversary date fell on Easter Sunday and the Easter Octave requires certain liturgical restrictions, the commemoration of the anniversary is transferred to April 26. A Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Paul at 12:10 p.m.; however, priests of the diocese have been encouraged to commemorate the anniversary in their own parishes. Let us all continue to pray for Bishop Foley!

John Carroll to host Casino Night
John Carroll Catholic High School’s Athletics Booster Club will hold its 2nd annual Casino Night from 6:30-11 p.m. Tickets to the casual attire event cost $35, which includes dinner, $500 casino cash and two drink tickets. The night will feature craps, blackjack, and roulette. Sponsorship levels available are general and high roller. General sponsorship, $350, includes two tickets, $3,000 casino cash, and in-event recognition. High roller sponsorship, $1,000, includes six tickets, two bottles of wine, $10,000 casino cash, and in-event recognition. Adamsville parish to hold Springfest and two-day market
The day before Springfest, the church will offer the Ora Labora Market beginning at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. The market will continue the next day at the same times in conjunction with the parish’s Springfest. Come out Sunday and bring the family for an afternoon full of fun! Vendors, a cake booth with homemade cakes and goodies, and a KidZone with inflatables and games will be featured. Dine in or carry out the church’s famous spaghetti dinner! An auction full of great baskets and items will be held as well as a raffle with hundreds of dollars in cash prizes.
