On Saturday, Nov. 4, 21 John Carroll Catholic High School thespians competed at the 2023 District 6 Trumbauer Theatre Competition at Thompson High School. Some of the events included solo acting dramatic and comedic, solo and duet musical theatre, and playwriting. Overall, John Carroll took home 18 superior rankings and 13 excellent rankings. Of those 18 superiors, the following students advanced to the state competition being held at the University of North Alabama on Dec. 1-2: Nate Ubil, Eva Watts, Veronica Walker, Lila Bakir, Sophia Barber, Miracle Tripp, Elias Marinelli, Kara Pepe, Amelia Leath, Kristen Cleary, Gwen Ubil, Maggie Von Hagel, Amaya Malone.
