Students receive sacraments of initiation

On Monday, June 17, seven students from Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School in Birmingham received the sacraments of initiation at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in the historic Titusville neighborhood of Birmingham. Two young women were baptized, confirmed, and received their first Holy Communion, while five others were confirmed. The students were prepared for the sacraments by their religion teacher Catie Yu Tiamco, with director of ministry and outreach Daniel McCormick providing support. Father Kevin Bazzel, Vicar General of the diocese, celebrated the Mass and administered the sacraments with Deacon Doug Moorer assisting at the altar.
