Spring blood drive a success

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church’s Knights of Columbus Council 4304 recently sponsored an American Red Cross blood drive, the last of the school year. On Pentecost Sunday, May 19, donors gave a total of 43 blood products, which included 31 whole blood pints and six Power Red donations. Donors and their families enjoyed a hot breakfast cooked by the Knights that included eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and biscuits and gravy. Donations from parishioners and community members will help keep the blood supply more stable during a time of the year when regular donors may be unable to give because of vacations. The parish’s next blood drive is scheduled for September.
