Red Cross Blood Drive Tops Goal

It was a joint effort by the American Red Cross and OLS with organization help from the Knights of Columbus. During the five-hour project phlebotomists drew 33 units of blood, exceeding the 30-unit goal. Donors received newly designed Red Cross t-shirts. The blood drive was held to get a head start on summer during which donations decline because of vacations. Donated blood helps cancer patients, trauma patients, sickle cell anemia patients, burn patients, and those with chronic diseases.
