Lay Dominicans welcome new members
On July 26, Casa Maria, the retreat center and convent of the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word, hosted Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Chapter of the Lay Dominicans for Mass celebrated by Dominican Father Andrew Hofer and concelebrated by Father Bryan Jerabek, pastor and rector of the Cathedral of St. Paul. During the Mass two new members were admitted, one made temporary vows, and five professed their perpetual vows. The Lay Dominicans are a Third Order that provides a way for laity who feel drawn to the Dominican charism to participate in the merits and graces of the Order of Preachers and collaborate more fully in their spiritual mission. The Birmingham Chapter, which meets monthly on Sunday afternoons, welcomes new inquirers. To learn more, please contact Amanda Lang, chapter president, at justin.amanda.lang@gmail.com.
