The Polish Club of North Alabama celebrated Wigilia (Mary's meal) in preparation for the birth of Christ at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Huntsville on Dec. 13. The community comes together to serve traditional dishes and sing songs they’ve known since childhood. Some of the traditional foods served included pierogi, smoked salmon, and pickled herring, among other delicacies. The Polish Club of North Alabama meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church. All are welcome.
