Planning underway for Our Lady of Sorrows’ July 4th Festival
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church’s trash & treasure volunteers participating in the parish's 75th Independence Day celebration are poised for their busy season. About 70 people, including Father Bob Sullivan, pastor, turned out for a potluck dinner and planning session on April 23. They received updates from Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Clark Tucker and Trash & Treasure Chair Melanie Falconer. On May 18, a parish-wide workday to get the gym in shape will be held. The team looks forward to welcoming more volunteers before donations begin rolling in, starting May 27. Items must be in working order and clothing must be clean and free of stains. Items not accepted include large appliances, pianos, tube TVs, sofa beds, mattresses and box springs, cribs, encyclopedias and textbooks, and armoires. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Melanie Falconer at joeandmel@bellsouth.net.
