During the appreciation dinner for Our Lady of Sorrows (OLS) 73rd Annual Independence Day Festival volunteers, Dr. Frances Andrews was awarded the Ernie Eltz Volunteer of the Year Award by OLS pastor Msgr. Martin Muller, recounting the many services she provides the parish including being on the liturgy committee, making banners, and assisting before and after Masses.  More than 100 volunteers enjoyed fellowship and a catered dinner. The Knights of Columbus Council 4304 organized the festival. During the dinner in the Parish Hall on Aug. 10, Grand Knight Clark Tucker expressed his gratitude to the crowd. The proceeds from the festival were shared by Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and the charitable work of the Knights. School principal Mary Jane Dorn thanked the volunteers on behalf of the students.
