OLS adult education launches
An excited group gathered for the kickoff of adult education at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Oct. 1. This fall, the focus is on the seven deadly sins, considering the seven last words of Jesus. Class members will read and discuss the book Victory Over Vice by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen whose cause for canonization is open. The group will use a study guide to direct discussions. In the first session they learned about the life and legacy of Sheen and his connection to Alabama. In subsequent weeks they will tackle one vice at a time. It is not too late to join the class. There are a few books and study guides left. The next session is Oct. 15 in the Parish Hall at 9:45 a.m. and the topic will be anger. The class runs from 10 to 11 a.m. Light refreshments are served. A nursery is provided for children under age five and PSR classes are available at the same time for children through grade 12. Adults of all ages and stages are invited to come for faith, food, and fellowship!
