Local teacher receives research award

On Jan. 28, the Institute of the Psychological Sciences awarded St. Bernard Preparatory religion instructor, Sister Gianna Casino, L.I.H.M., an Outstanding Graduate Research Award for her research brief on trauma, resilience, and the neurobiological effects of virtue. The award presentation took place in Washington, D.C., at Divine Mercy University's Symposium. Pictured are Dr. Ruby Casino; Sister Gianna Casino, L.I.H.M.; Dr. Lisa Klewicki, and Dr. Rebecca Morse. The presenters honored Sister Gianna’s work and praised her for making a valuable contribution to trauma literature. The sister will be signing a deal with Ave Maria Press as a contracted author for a forthcoming book based on her research. It is currently titled How Much More Can You Take.
