St. Cecilia Catholic Parish in Jasper began offering an evening Wednesday Mass to encourage mid-week prayer and fellowship on Oct. 2. The decision to move the regularly scheduled Wednesday 11:30 a.m. Mass to 5:30 p.m. was supported by the parish’s Pastoral Council. The new Mass time coordinates with the parish’s evening youth classes. Following Mass, adoration begins at 6 p.m., and the meal begins 45 minutes later in the social hall. The weekly meal is sponsored through the cooperation of the Pastoral Council, the Ladies’ Sodality, the Knights of Columbus, the Hispanic community, and PSR. The youth of the parish play a primary role in the Mass as altar servers, lectors, and in leading the Rosary.
