July 4th Fest volunteers relish appreciation dinner

More than 100 Our Lady of Sorrows Church volunteers enjoyed fellowship and a catered Italian dinner in appreciation of a successful 74th Annual Independence Day Festival, which the Knights of Columbus Council 4304 organized. During the dinner in the parish hall on Aug. 1, Grand Knight Clark Tucker expressed his astonishment that the fundraiser bounced back to its pre-pandemic level. The proceeds were shared by Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and the charitable work of the Knights. Father Bob Sullivan, pastor, and Mary Jane Dorn, school principal, thanked the volunteers for months of hard work. Also, during the dinner the Ernie Eltz Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Scott Burczyk for his continued service to the parish.
