Annual Catholic Schools Mass

Bishop Raica will celebrate the Catholic Schools Mass at the Cathedral of St. Paul, starting at 10 a.m. The annual Mass is held for all sixth graders in the diocese. For more information, please contact the Catholic Schools Office at 205.838.8322.

Mass to honor Consecrated Religious

A Mass honoring all consecrated religious will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul, starting at 11 a.m.


February 11-March 17

Are you in harmony with God?

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Birmingham will sponsor and four local parishes will host a six-part video program featuring teaching on spiritual gifts and the working of the Holy Spirit, starting Sunday, Feb. 11. St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer will hold sessions every Sunday at 11 a.m., following the 10 a.m. Mass. Our Lady, Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in Huntsville will hold sessions on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Anniston and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Jacksonville will hold sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. St. Aloysius is located at 751 Academy Drive. Our Lady, Queen of the Universe is located at 2421 Shady Lane Drive, Northwest. World Marriage Day

A Mass marking World Marriage Day will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul, starting at 11 a.m.

Priesthood Discernment Weekend

The Office of Vocations is hosting a Priesthood Discernment Weekend at Casa Maria Retreat Center in Birmingham. Father John McDonald will lead this weekend of prayer, talks, and fellowship for men discerning a call to priesthood. Father Wyman Vintson, Vicar for Vocations, will be present to answer questions about discernment, the application process, and seminary life. This weekend experience is for men ages 18-35. Men’s Lenten Retreat

St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church’s Knights of Columbus Council 13446 will be hosting their 6th annual Men’s Lenten Retreat, beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding at 2 p.m. Bishop Emeritus Robert Baker will facilitate the discussion centered on the theme, The Eucharist: Nourishment for the Journey.. Rite of Election - Huntsville

The diocese will hold the Rite of Election at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville at 10 a.m. The Call to Continuing Conversion will also be held at Holy Spirit the same day at 2 p.m. For more information, contact the Office at Sacred Liturgy at sacredliturgy@bhmdiocese.org. Rite of Election - Birmignham
