On Oct. 9, the Italian-American Heritage Society held their annual celebration of Columbus Day. Over 100 attendees celebrated the event. Paul Demarco presented president Jeanette Campisi with a declaration from Governor Kay Ivy in recognition of the contributions made by the Italian community and reaffirmed the recognition of the Columbus Day holiday. She also affirmed that October is Italian Heritage month.
