Catholic Charities Sunday is observed at Our Lady of Sorrows Church (OLS) in Homewood at the 8:30 a.m. Mass as parishioners take part in a procession to place their pledge cards in a basket held by associate pastor Father Eric Gami. OLS Pastor Msgr. Martin M. Muller says that he thinks there is something irreplaceable about “the march of pledges.” The basket of pledges is placed on the altar of God in thanksgiving and as a commitment to Jesus who pledged His life for our eternal salvation. Each Mass at OLS gave the congregation an opportunity to join “the march of pledges.”
