Blood drive exceeds goal

The American Red Cross Blood Drive, hosted on Jan. 15 by Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, resulted in the donation of 40 blood products surpassing the goal of 35 units. Knights of Columbus member Patrick Rupinski who coordinated the five-hour event noted, “This is a 25 percent increase from our November blood drive.” Among the more than 40 people who came to give blood were four first-time donors. The knights cooked a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and grits to thank the donors and their families.
