John Carroll Catholic High School held its first Trailblazer Legacy Coffee on Oct. 18, featuring alumni Dr. Deven Mayes Tellis ('01) and Hailey Mason '(18). Both Tellis and Mason have recently authored children's books. Robert C. Smith ('66) was in attendance, representing the four students who integrated the school in 1964.  

During the gathering, Tellis and Mason took questions from guests and shared their inspirations and reasons for writing. The two also shared their experiences creating, publishing, and marketing their books. 

John Carroll Catholic will host the next Trailblazer Legacy Coffee in January 2025, featuring alumni who are trailblazing in their careers and vocations. The event will be open to the public.
