Students celebrate the holidays with end of the year program

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in Homewood celebrated the holiday season with a special presentation of a Live Nativity and a Living Advent Wreath. Family and friends were invited to enjoy the inspirational program, which focused on the vital role of the Holy Family, the Mother of Jesus, and the angels in proclaiming Jesus' birth.

The celebration began with students “lighting” a Living Advent Wreath. A child represented each candle to show the world’s anticipation of Christmas. In addition, students characterized an impressive Live Nativity scene that included Mother Mary and St. Joseph. Other children dressed as St. Elizabeth, the Angel Gabriel, a shepherd, little angels, wise men, and farm animals. Each class dressed as biblical characters and sang traditional Christmas songs. The annual program concluded the year on an inspirational note for the students and staff before taking their school break.

The school is dedicated to fostering every child's religious, academic, and social development. Accredited by Cognia, the school provides a curriculum that combines Catholic faith and teachings and ensures academic excellence.
