Students Inducted Into the National Honor Society

St. John Paul II Catholic High School (JPII) inducted 54 students into the Dr. Georg von Tiesenhausen Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) at the April 7 Induction and Cord Presentation Ceremony. The program’s guest speaker, Dr. Georg von Tiesenhausen, provided an inspiring address to the students to uphold the motto of JPII and the four standards of the NHS. He congratulated the students on their achievement and encouraged them to pursue the path God has for them. NHS Officers Michael Durant, Daniel Lawrence, Alyssa Albers, and J.P. Ross presented the four standards of NHS and Nicholas Schovel delivered the opening and closing prayers.

Inductees to the National Honor Society must meet the NHS four standards of excellence: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership is offered to second-semester juniors or seniors who meet the following criteria: a 3.75 or higher GPA, completed fifty percent of required service hours, and received two faculty recommendations.
