St. John Paul II Catholic High School: Class of 2024

Huntsville’s St. John Paul II Catholic High School Class of 2024 received a total of $10,276,135 in scholarship offers, with $4,197,079 of that total accepted by the students. A staggering 21 percent of the 78-student class achieved 30 or higher on their ACT. In addition, the class logged 8,832 hours of service to the community, and six students will continue their athletic career as college athletes.

The class’s top ten students, alphabetically, were Corinne Elizabeth Arnston, Natalie Teresa Birmingham, Samantha Alice Brix, Asia Tereza Dezenberg, Jacqueline Delaney Faulds, Nancy Katherine Henrich, Sheila Le, Marissa Lola Summerlin, Catherine Linh Tyrrell, and Ava Elizabeth Williams.

Students receiving special awards were Samantha Alice Brix (Alice I. Hession Academic Award), Asia Tereza Dezenberg (Brother Benedict Stoegbauer, S.D.S., Community Service Award), Natalie Teresa Birmingham (Reverend Louis Giardino Religion Award), Luke Anthony Songy and Hope Lauren Harrell (Linda Bifulco Athletic Award), Thomas Elliott Ehemann and Hope Lauren Harrell (Edward Manlove Falcon Flight Award), and Valerie Rose Wiegmann (Dana Bathurst Fine Arts Award).

The St. John Paul II Catholic High School 2024 Bishop Trophy recipient was Samantha Alice Brix. The trophy represents four pillars - spiritual, academics, arts, and athletics - and exemplifies the mission to learn enthusiastically, lead honorably, and live responsibly. During her time at the school, Brix was a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, Tri-M National Music Honor Society, Apologetics Club, Catholic Identity Council, Marching/Concert Band, and Broken and Shared. She will attend Auburn University in the fall to study computer science.
