St. Elias to host upcoming Magnificat Breakfast, Aug. 26
The Service Team of Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat is delighted to invite the women of our diocese to its Magnificat Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church’s parish hall, 836 8th Street South in Birmingham.
The guest speaker, Jennifer Marte Molina, is a Hispanic cradle Catholic who has been married to her husband, Jaime, for 10 years. They have five wonderful children from an infant to 9 years of age. They moved to Alabama from New York six years ago when her husband accepted a job at EWTN. Molina and her family are active members at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
When Molina was eight years old, her parents divorced. Sadly, this impacted her life in that she was raised with minimal instruction in her faith. Her childhood spiraled down the wrong path. At age 15, God completely transformed her life when Molina and her younger sister were both adopted by her godparents. Because she was given a family to truly love and care for her, she felt God’s love and mercy, which changed her entire life. She learned how family unity and quality time together in prayer is absolutely priceless, and she still cherishes it to this day. Living the present moment to the fullest with a grateful heart, Molina offers it all to Christ with a humble trust and an unwavering hope in His plan.
Amidst all the activity of being a wife, a mother, and a part-time secretary at UAB during the night, Molina has written a bilingual, Catholic, children’s book, Grandma Taught Me to Love Mary ~ Mi Abuela me enseñó a amar a la Virgen Maria. This little book shows how her adopted mother taught everyone to understand the concrete love of God and neighbor and the many ways she loved the Virgin Mary. Molina now shares that role as she teaches the faith to her own children. This simple, beautiful, teachable book will be available to purchase at the meal.
Please have breakfast with us and listen to Molina give thanks and praise to God. She said, “I’m thankful God saw something in me and gave me a chance to prosper.” Molina is truly an inspiration to all mothers!
