Smiles filled the campus of St. Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman during its Fall Open House on Friday, Nov. 7, as two dozen prospective students and their families visited to experience life at the private day and boarding school.

Families traveled not only from across Alabama but also from as far away as Wyoming, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Florida to tour the historic 800-acre campus and meet students and faculty. Interest was greatest among middle school families, with sixteen of the twenty-four visiting students exploring St. Bernard’s seventh and eighth-grade programs.

Student ambassadors and several parents guided visitors around the campus, sharing insights into the school’s strong academics, faith-based environment, and vibrant community life. Among the guests were the sixth-grade class from Sacred Heart School in Cullman, who spent the day shadowing both middle and high school classes.

Admissions Director Rachael Stover expressed her enthusiasm for the day’s success. “It was wonderful to see so much interest in the academic curriculum we offer at St. Bernard,” Stover said. “Guests commented on how welcoming our students and faculty were and how peaceful and beautiful the campus is.”

In the weeks ahead, St. Bernard expects visitors from as far away as Miami, Florida, and Chicago, Illinois. Students interested in the boarding program are invited to stay overnight in the dorms and attend classes alongside students, while day students are welcome to shadow for the day as well.

“Three of the twenty-four interested students have already started the application process, and I expect more to apply in the coming weeks,” Stover added. “St. Bernard offers a nurturing, close-knit community with academic rigor and an ideal setting for families seeking both challenge and care.”
