St. Bernard archery teams earn top finishes

The archery program at St. Bernard Preparatory School delivered an impressive showing over the weekend as both the middle school and high school teams competed in regional and home competitions, bringing home multiple top finishes and setting a new school record.

On Thursday, both teams traveled to Boaz to compete in the regional tournament, and both finished in third place overall. During the competition, the high school team broke an existing St. Bernard school record, marking a milestone achievement for the program.

Individually, Josie Lamote and Jonlyn Gibbs both placed fourth in their respective divisions, contributing to the teams’ strong overall performance.

The success continued on Friday and Saturday when St. Bernard hosted the Shootout at the Grotto, welcoming archers from across the region to the school’s campus.

The middle school team earned second place, while high school archer Josie Lamote captured first place in the High School Girls Division, highlighting a standout weekend for the talented competitor.

St. Bernard’s archery program continues to grow in strength and recognition, with student-athletes demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship in regional competition. The strong performances at Boaz and the Shootout at the Grotto reflect the dedication and hard work of the archers and their coaches as the season progresses.
