Catholic Social Services of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa will hold its annual silent auction gala on Aug. 27 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Indian Hills Country Club, located at 1650 McFarland Blvd., N. The evening will feature live music by Sadie McLayne. Sponsorships are available, starting at just $500. The premier sponsorship, which is $5,000, includes a reserved table for ten, two bottles of wine, and sponsor recognition on display during the gala and sponsor listing on the CSS website. 

The center works to fulfill its mission to answer Jesus’ call to meet the needs of people living in poverty. Through the support of community partners, the center serves individuals and families across Tuscaloosa, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Hale, and Winston Counties in West Alabama. In 2025, the agency, led by Sister Oliva Olivares, served 4,500 individuals with $332,813 in direct assistance, which included rent assistance, utility assistance, food assistance, transportation assistance, medical and prescription assistance, and disaster relief.
