National Merit Finalist
St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville recently announced that the school’s own Genevieve “Jane” Detwiler, Class of 2025, was named a 2024-25 National Merit Finalist. The impressive achievement demonstrates Detwiler’s commitment, intelligence, and focus. In early February, the selection of some 7,500 Merit Scholarship winners from a group of more than 15,000 semifinalists were notified they had advanced as a National Merit Finalist. National Merit Scholarship Corporation selects finalists based on their academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, PSAT and SAT scores, the high school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the finalist's essay. Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarship Awards.
