Ron and Micky Zielinski celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Friday, Aug. 19. Married at St. Zachary Catholic Church in Des Plaines, Illinois, they travelled around the world with Ron’s military career while raising three daughters. After settling in Anniston, Alabama, Micky began a long career with the Diocese of Birmingham, first as a teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School and then as principal starting in 1982. In the 1990s she served the parish as director of religious education (DRE) before being named DRE for the diocese. After retiring from the military, Ron began his second career as business manager of John Carroll Catholic High School. Both Ron and Micky are now retired and enjoy long days at the lake. Ron and Micky celebrated their special anniversary with their daughters Katie Zielinski, Cindy (Mark) Coyle, and Liesa (John) Burke and their wonderful grandchildren Henry Coyle, Drew Burke, Jack Burke, Bo Burke, Anna Cate Coyle, and Ellie Burke.
