John Carroll Catholic High School (JCCHS), in conjunction with the Diocesan Catholic Schools Office, hosted Catholic Schools Field Day on Friday, April 22, at Pat Sullivan Field. The day included approximately 150 student-athlete representatives from eight diocesan schools, competing in almost 200 track and field events.

The event was kicked off with an opening ceremony which included a welcome from Superintendent of Catholic Schools Margaret Dubose, a prayer led by John Carroll SportsLeader representatives William Gignilliat and Kayla Coley-Drayton, the National Anthem performed by the JCCHS marching band, and an enthusiastic welcome from the Cavalier cheerleaders and dance team.

Students competed in events such as the softball throw, shot put, long jump, 100-yard dash, 880 run, 440 relay, among others.

The schools participating in this year’s event included St. Rose Academy, St. James School, Holy Family Regional School of Huntsville, St. Francis Xavier, Our Lady of the Valley, Our Lady of Sorrows, Prince of Peace, and St. John The Baptist.

Congratulations to all the schools and the winners, and a special thank you to the principals and teachers that helped make the day a great success for our Catholic school community!
