Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood marked Catechetical Sunday in a special way on Sept. 15. The parish’s pastor, Father Bob Sullivan, blessed those who take part in teaching the faith in the parish’s eight ministries. At the 8:30 a.m. Mass and at the 11:30 a.m. Mass, catechists stood in front of the congregations for the blessing. Father Bob prayed that each of the 144 people would be good catechists for Jesus Christ. Among the eight ministries are the Parish School of Religion (PSR), OLS School, Adult Education, Children's Liturgy and the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
