Local church’s annual fiesta a success

On April 29, St. Ann’s Catholic School held its annual Seafood Fiesta, a fundraising event for the school. The day included great seafood, authentic Mexican food, a car show, and live music. The school, operated by Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, is located in Decatur and is the only K-8th Catholic school in Morgan County.

Before the event, Knights of Columbus Council 3986 voted to provide a $10,000 matching donation to the school’s annual appeal. In a few short weeks the school was able to acquire the necessary donations, resulting in the commitment being made by the Council. During the Seafood Fiesta, Knights of Columbus Council 3986 Financial Secretary Jim Tipler presented school Principal Brandi Lumley with the $10,000 check.
