Lay Salvatorians make commitment

On Saturday, Dec. 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville, five Lay Salvatorian candidates made their temporary commitment to the International Community of the Divine Savior (ICDS). The commitment is an outward expression of their resolution to live the apostolic life of the Salvatorians, which includes sharing the goodness and kindness of Jesus, the Savior, by all ways and means.

The candidates, Tammy Hoskins, Rocky Bellew, Patty Ayala, John Blumer, and Jim Powell, underwent a two-year formation program, studying the life of the founder, Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross, as well as the charism of the three branches of the Salvatorian Family: the Society of the Divine Savior (priests and brothers), the Sisters of the Divine Savior, and the ICDS (lay members).

The Salvatorians celebrate their Foundation Day on Dec. 8 each year.
