Knights serve students during retreat

On Saturday, March 25, members of the Knights of Columbus Council 635, based at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Chapel, provided, cooked, and served hamburgers, as well as hot dogs, for 110 students and guests attending the 2023 Alabama Awakening, held at Camp Tekakwitha.

Alabama Awakening is a retreat for college-aged young adults, run by students, for students who seek to help each other grow in knowledge and love of the Catholic faith over a weekend retreat. Inspired by Awakenings held at campuses across the country, the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama launched Alabama Awakening in the Spring of 2015 and has successfully hosted an Alabama Awakening each semester since it began.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus Council 635 is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practicing Catholics in union with the Holy See. If you are interested in joining the Knights of Columbus Council 635, please email council635gk@gmail.com.
