Knights hold Founders Day Dinner

The Knights of Columbus Council 635 recently held its annual Founders Day Dinner at The Fish Market in Birmingham on Jan. 30. Approximately 40 Knights, families, and friends attended, along with Bishop Steven Raica and Father Jacob Nkoto, the Cathedral of St. Paul’s parochial vicar. The evening was marked with camaraderie and celebration, as attendees gathered to honor the legacy, founding, and mission of The Knights of Columbus.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous Greek, family-style, sit-down dinner which included delectable appetizers and salad, an array of delicious entrees, and dessert. The meal concluded with inspirational talks given by both Father Nkoto and Bishop Raica.

At the event, Grand Knight Billy Pickard presented Father Nkoto a $15,000 donation to support Catholic campus ministry for UAB and Samford students. Council 635, based at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Chapel in Birmingham and Alabama’s oldest Council, has supported campus ministry since 2015, contributing over $220,000.
