The Service Team of Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat is delighted to invite the women of the diocese to Our Lady of Sorrows’ Family Life Center for the Magnificat Prayer Luncheon on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Jess Echeverry will be the guest speaker. She is an advocate for women and families who has survived severe childhood trauma, abortion, and years of homelessness. In 1997, she met Charlie, the man she would eventually marry. This man would help her create an environment of authentic love that enabled her healing journey, her relationship with Jesus Christ, and her eventual forgiveness and love for her attackers. She converted to Catholicism in 2008.

Her husband is a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Together they have five children: two sons still at home, two young adults and one lovely soul in Heaven.

Inspired by the good things God has wrought in her life, she published her first book, Dazzled: Finding the Key to Perfect Forgiveness, detailing her life experiences in a way that lifts up and enlightens others who are searching for ways to heal. With the help of God’s grace, she has used her gift as a strong and effective speaker to turn those past experiences into real, loving help for others.

Tickets for the luncheon will be available through Feb. 25 and cost $20, which includes a catered lunch. Tickets are also available at Alpha Church Supply and Gifts in Homewood. Tickets for priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters are complimentary, but reservations are still required.
