A heartfelt salute to heroes
Homewood’s Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School proudly honored American veterans with a moving Veterans Day Assembly in the Roger McLaughlin School Gym on campus the week of Veterans Day. The program began with a powerful message from special guest speaker, Retired Lt. Commander Terry Schnare, DDS, United States Navy.
Students, parents, and guests joined together to celebrate American military heroes with a stirring performance by the John Carroll Catholic High School Honor’s Mixed Ensemble Choir, patriotic songs sung by OLS School students, and special recognition of all veterans and military family members in attendance.
A light reception followed the inspiring program, during which guests gathered in fellowship. More than a tradition, honoring veterans allows the school to teach students about faith, service, and love of country through knowledge and faith.
