Erin Vicinanzo to speak at the next Magnificat Breakfast

The Service Team of Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat will hold its next Magnificat breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Hall in Homewood. All women of the diocese are invited to attend.

The speaker for the morning, Erin Vicinanzo, has been married for 24 years to Dr. Matthew Vicinanzo, who is an ophthalmic surgeon at the Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham. The couple moved to the south from New York 20 years ago and have 5 children. Erin Vicinanzo has a master’s degree in special education and is very active in her faith. At her parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, she is currently a catechist, teaching in the Good Shepherd Program and teaching the Young Women of Grace through the youth group. She also taught PSR for 14 years, been involved in many Bible studies, rosary groups, and retreats, and attended many pro-life marches in Washington, D.C. with her family.

One of the biggest ways God touched Vicinanzo’s life was through her mother’s illness. During her talk, she will share how, through the beautiful sacraments of the Catholic faith, she was able to see her mother forgive others and mostly herself. She came back into the Church before her illness became too debilitating, which allowed Vicinanzo to witness her mother’s spiritual healing.

Vicinanzo will tell guests that God has given women such beautiful gifts to share and the truth of our worth comes from our Creator. Vicinanzo says, “Obedience doesn't just come naturally, so we need to build it through the beautiful sacraments in our Church. [We need]to read His word and to spend quiet time with Him to hear His plans for us.”
