Diocese plans pilgrimage to National Eucharistic Congress

As published in the September/October issue of the One Voice magazine, the Diocese of Birmingham has planned a pilgrimage to the National Eucharistic Congress, the first in 83 years.  The congress, which will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, July 16-21, will be a reinstitution of a fruitful tradition not seen in America since the start of World War II.

Inviting the faithful of the diocese to join the pilgrimage, Bishop Raica noted, “I firmly believe that this gathering of the faithful is an incredible opportunity for the people of our diocese to respond to the invitations of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Please join me.”

The diocese has purchased conference tickets and is currently taking reservations for 200 adults, at least 19 years of age. The pilgrimage package includes round trip coach transportation, five nights’ accommodation at the Indianapolis Omni Severin Hotel, National Eucharistic Congress registration, one “Breakfast with the Bishop” ticket, gratuities, and taxes.
