Another day of service is in the books
Parishioners of St. Cecilia’s in Jasper gathered on March 7 for a day of service and fellowship. The day began with a light breakfast and a time of getting to know each other. The parish’s administrator, Father Antony Vadakara, C.M.I., then led the group in prayer, thanking God for those who came to donate their time and asking for safety. He then shared his vision of the tasks to be done.
Following the prayer, everyone set out to complete tasks both inside the campus and on the grounds. With so many getting involved in dusting, cleaning, and mopping, the effects were amazing. The same was true for the work being done outside and at the rectory. In all, the volunteers cleaned classrooms, bathrooms, windows, candlesticks, and the rectory. They also polished all furnishings, trimmed trees and bushes, installed a surveillance camera, and landscaped around the columbarium site.
With the selfless gift of manual labor and the donations of Luis Plaza and the Sons of Jasper Grocery, the third annual day of service was deemed a success.
