Anchored in Hope: The impact of Catholic schools in 2024-2025

The Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama recently released the 2025 edition of The Measure of Success, the office’s annual report highlighting the impact, growth, and vitality of Catholic schools across the diocese.

Centered on the theme “Anchored in Hope,” the report “tells a powerful story,” notes Margaret Dubose, superintendent of Catholic schools. “In a rapidly changing world,” she continues, “our schools remain steady places where faith is lived, academic excellence is pursued, and students are formed in mind, body, and spirit.”

The report highlights continued enrollment growth, strong staff retention, academic achievement that exceeds state and national averages, students deepening their faith through sacramental life and student-led initiatives, graduates earning millions in scholarships and serving their communities with purpose, and the growing impact of the Faith in Education Endowment and the Monsignor Sexton Continuing Education Endowment.

“These accomplishments reflect the extraordinary dedication of our principals, teachers, pastors, families, donors, and community partners,” Dubose points out. “Together, we are building schools that not only prepare students for college and careers, but form them for lives of faith, service, and leadership.”
