‘Water for Jackson’

The diocesan Offices of Black Catholic Ministry and Religious Education along with the Consortium of African American Parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham, The Knights of Peter Claver Councils 140 and 272, and Father Mitch Pacwa, S.J., are sponsoring a bottled water drive, "Water for Jackson, Mississippi." This drive is for the people of Jackson, Mississippi, who were affected by the recent water crisis.

The collected cases of bottled water will be delivered to the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson for distribution. Several locations in the Birmingham area will be available for dropping off the water. In South Birmingham, John Carroll Catholic High School will collect water on Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. In West Birmingham, Holy Family Catholic Church will collect water on Sept. 23 from noon until 4 p.m., as well as Sept. 24 for two hours, starting at 8 a.m. In East Birmingham, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church will collect water on Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
