St. Charles Borromeo annual Yard Sale

Beginning at 7 a.m., St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Jacksonville will hold their annual yard sale in Macey Hall until 2 p.m. The funds from the sale help pay for the parish’s insurance as well as St. Joachim’s in Piedmont. The church is located at 308 7th Street, Northeast.

St. George Food Festival

St. George Melkite Catholic Church will hold their annual food festival from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day with drive-thru available from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. The festival will feature authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, merchandise booths, church tours, and live music. Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary renewal

At the conclusion of all Masses at the Cathedral of St. Paul, Father Kevin M. Bazzel will lead the faithful in renewing the parish’s consecration to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, calling to mind the original consecration he led on Sept. 15, 2012. The cathedral is located at 2120 3rd Avenue, North in Birmingham. Cursillo School of Leaders

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo will host the Cursillo School of Leaders (SoL) from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The school is for Cursillistas who wish to serve and strengthen the movement. This year the school is reviewing the rollos given on a Cursillo weekend and how they changed from the ones documented in the old leader's manual. The group is also looking at how the rollos form the mosaic of the Cursillo weekend. This is a good opportunity for anyone who aspires to work a weekend. Please plan to attend. Knights of Peter Claver to hold spaghetti dinner fundraiser

Our Lady, Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in Birmingham will host a fundraiser for Knights of Peter Claver Council 140, featuring spaghetti, Texas toast, salad, and dessert for $15 per plate or $50 for four plates. Adoration Sodality Day of Recollection 

The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament will hold an Adoration Sodality Day of Recollection from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. The day will consist of Mass, confession, a spiritual talk, a Eucharistic Healing Service, tours of the Shrine and Pope St. John Paul II Eucharistic Center, as well as free breakfast and lunch. Bishop Steven Raica will be the guest speaker. This monthly event is free to attend and open to all. The shrine is located at 3224 County Road 548. Padre Pio Prayer Group to meet

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood will host the Padre Pio Prayer Group at 10 a.m. for an hour of prayer, the Rosary, adoration, and Holy Mass led by Father Paul Asih. The church is located at 1728 Oxmoor Road in Homewood.

Cursillo Grand Ultreya

This year, the Diocesan Cursillo Movement will be hosting a picnic in Cullman’s Heritage Park for its Grand Ultreya from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. All Cursillistas are invited to bring friends and family for a day of fellowship and fun. Games for young and old will be provided. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Please bring a side dish or drink to share, and don’t forget your lawn chairs to sit and chat. Anniversary and feast day

The Padre Pio Prayer Group will mark its 10th anniversary and their patron’s feast day with a potluck meal in the parish hall of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church following daily Mass. ‘A Walk with Joey’

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church will hold a family night featuring a potluck dinner and a showing of the movie A Walk with Joey. The family night will be held in the church’s Social Hall, starting at 6 p.m. Joey Hale is everyone’s favorite employee at Publix at Valleydale Village, and his life story is truly inspirational. Joey’s story is about the power of faith, football, friendship, and community coming together to do what is right for a remarkable family in need. Please bring a covered dish to share. Huntsville/Madison Cursillo Ultreya

Men and women Cursillistas from the Huntsville and Madison area are invited to attend an evening of song, prayer, small group sharing, snacks and an inspiring witness talk at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison.
