St. William Seafood Festival

St. William Catholic Parish will hold their annual Seafood Festival, beginning with a drive-thru option on Friday at 4 p.m. Frozen gumbo by the quart and Cajun boiled shrimp by the pound will be available for purchase until 6 p.m. The next day, beginning at 7:30 a.m., the same menu will be available for purchase using the drive-thru option until all food is sold out. On Saturday, a dine-in option will also be available, beginning at 10:30 a.m. In addition to frozen gumbo by the quart and Cajun boiled shrimp by the pound, the menu will include catfish and BBQ chicken dinners with coleslaw and hush puppies. A la carte items available will be hush puppies, coleslaw, and rice. Sales will continue until all items are sold out. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit local charities. The church is located at 915 Gunter Avenue in Guntersville. Divino Nino Festival

The 12th annual Divino Nino Festival will be held at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, beginning at 9 a.m. The family-friendly event, which celebrates God’s Word becoming flesh as the Divine Child, includes Mass, bilingual talks on the Child Jesus, a Eucharistic Healing Service, and much more. St. Mark the Evangelist Flea Market

Birmingham’s St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church will host a parish flea market on Thursday from 1:30-5 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m.-2 p.m in the Holy Family Center. The parish’s Knights of Columbus are sponsoring the event. The twice yearly flea market will feature furniture, clothing, purses, shoes, electronics, sporting goods, toys, tools, books, games and more. Early entrance at 7 a.m. on Friday will be granted with a $2.00 donation to the intellectual disabilities campaign. At noon on Saturday, customers can fill a small bag for $12, a large bag for $20, or a car or truck for $95. Proceeds fund many charitable efforts including pre-born and intellectual disability campaigns, the homeless, Catholic education, the Women of St. Mark, and more. Bernard Blues & BBQ

St. Bernard Abbey will host its tenth annual Bernard Blues & BBQ. The event features some of the best artisans in the Southeast. While shopping, enjoy live music and the best pulled pork in the Southeast. Hours for the event are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission is a $10 requested donation. Children under age 12 get in free. No pets, please. Festival guests can also tour the world-famous Ave Maria Grotto for half-off admission. Evangelization Mission with Fr. Marcos Galvis

The diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry will sponsor an Evangelization Mission with Father Marcos Galvis, focusing on the importance of reading Sacred Scripture and living lives centered on God’s teachings. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Gardendale will host Wednesday evening’s mission, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday’s mission will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville, also beginning at 6:30 p.m. St. Elizabeth is located at 334 Main Street, and Holy Spirit is located at 625 Airport Road, Southwest. Parish yard sale

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Jacksonville will hold their annual yard sale between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Macey Hall, the parish life building. The St. Charles yard sale is a popular community event held to benefit parish activities and local charitable programs. Padre Pio Prayer Group

The Padre Pio Prayer group of Birmingham will meet at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, beginning with Mass in the chapel at 9 a.m. Following Mass, Benediction, the Rosary, and prayers will take place before a potluck lunch in the Family Life Center to mark Padre Pio's feast day. Annual Catechists' Formation Day

St. Peter the Apostle Church in Hoover will host the Catechists’ Formation Day, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The bilingual event is a collaborative effort between the diocesan Office of Catechesis and Christian Initiation and the diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry. St. Pier Giorgio Frassati Fraternity 

Adult men and women who have been Catholic for at least two years, following the sacrament of Confirmation, are invited to learn about the Dominican laity at the St. Pier Giorgio Frassati Fraternity’s first meeting of the year at 2 p.m. Lay Dominicans share in the vocation of the Dominican Order to proclaim the truths of salvation and to grow spiritually by sharing the fruits of their contemplation, in a manner appropriate to the laity.
