Thespians Enjoy Success at State Festival

Sixteen of John Carroll Catholic High School’s thespians recently competed in 24 events at the State Trumbauer Theatre Festival at Troy University. They competed in musical theatre, acting, duet, monologues, playwriting, and scene design events against 1,800+ students from 104 high schools all over the state of Alabama. Overall, John Carroll's 16 students received 19 superior rankings and 5 high excellent rankings. The following students also placed in their events: Giorgio Simoni earned first place in his acting dramatic 1975-2004 novice event, Larissa Garrett earned first place in her playwriting novice event, Janie Spratley earned first place in her musical dramatic 1975-2014 intermediate event, Anthony Cucinotta earned first place in his musical dramatic 1975-2014 varsity event, Kristen Cleary earned first place in her musical comedic 1975-2014 varsity event, Kara Pepe earned second place in her acting dramatic 1900-1974 novice event, Ezra Bishop earned second place in his acting 2005-present novice event, Kristen Cleary earned third place in her musical dramatic 2015-present varsity event, Galilea Szabo earned third place in her scene design novice event.
