St. John Paul II Catholic High School Holds Commencement

St. John Paul II Catholic High School’s Class of 2022 boasted 100% college acceptance, $10,085,846 in merit-based scholarships, 9,368 hours of community service, 1 National Merit finalist, 5 College Board National Hispanic Scholars, 2 College Board National Indigenous People Scholars, 1 College Board National African American Scholar, 3-peat State Champs Boys Cross Country, 2 collegiate student-athletes, and Best In Show State Trumbauer Theatre Competition.

The top ten students in the class were Lauren Grace Acupan, Abhishek Sonny Biswas, Michael John Durant, II, Amelia Grace Geist, Erin Holley Hataway, Daniel Barton Lawrence, Corrina Brooke Mathews, Nicholas Anthony Schovel, Rachel Amelia Stoner. and Maren Elizabeth Weathers.

Special awards went to Abhishek Sonny Biswas for the Alice I Hession Academic Award, Lauren Grace Acupan for the Brother Benedict Stoegbauer, S.D.S., Community Service Award, Amelia Grace Geist for the Reverend Louis Giardino Religion Award, Alyssa Marie Albers and Donald Dominic Zana, II for the Linda Bifulco Athletic Award, Anna Wallace Wheeler and Karl Stanislaus Chojnacki for the Edward Manlove Falcon Flight Award, and Corrina Brooke Mathews for the Dana Bathurst Fine Arts Award.

The Commencement speaker for the Class of 2022 was Alexandra Rojas Aguilar and the Bishop’s Trophy went to Nicholas Anthony Schovel.
