The spotlight was on education at a recent Sunday Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bessemer. The parish, led by Father Paul Asih, M.S.P, recognized the youth for past and current accomplishments. Students had the opportunity to tell their church family about their activities during the 2024-2025 school year and what they hope to accomplish in the new school year. College senior Henry Ani, who attends the University of Alabama, was present, as were high school seniors Cole Perryman of John Carroll Catholic and Onyi Ani and Ugo Orji of Jefferson County International Baccalaureate. They all were especially excited about entering their respective final years of  school.
