For their essays, Ryan Christopher Campisi and Michael Riley Giardina were both awarded a $500 scholarship toward their tuition by the Italian American Heritage Society. Both young men are students at the University of Alabama and both did an excellent job of reading their winning essays to the society. Christopher is the son of Sam and Janet Campisi and the nephew of Jeanette Campisi, and Michael Riley is the son of Michael and Steffayne Giardina and the grandson of Angie and Don Giardina. The society expressed gratitude to Carolina Maenza for doing such a wonderful job of chairing the IAHS Scholarship Committee.
