John Carroll Catholic High School juniors Nathaniel Rohling and William Metcalf were awarded the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYL) sponsored by the Birmingham Rotary Club. As a part of their ongoing leadership training, Rohling and Metcalf recently represented John Carroll Catholic at Space Camp at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. The two received hands-on experiences and heard from keynote speaker Robert “Hoot” Gibson. Gibson was a Top Gun pilot and Navy captain who commanded 10 Space Shuttle missions.
