Relic of St. John Paul II’s Liquified Blood to Tour Diocese

Mother Adela Galindo, foundress of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, has been entrusted the official first-class pilgrimage relic of St. John Paul II's liquified blood. The Office of Hispanic Ministry invited Mother Adela to visit the diocese and hold a three-day mission. Mother Adela and two of her sisters will begin the mission on May 3.

On Tuesday, May 3, St. John Paul II High Scholl will host Mother Adela from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville will display the relic until 3 p.m. The same evening from 6-9 p.m., a bilingual Mass, reflection, and veneration will be held at the church.

The next day, the Cathedral of St. Paul will host Mother Adela immediately following the 12:10 Mass. Veneration of the relic will end at 3 p.m. Three hours later at 6 p.m., St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Birmingham will hold a bilingual Mass, reflection, and veneration until 9 p.m.

On Thursday, May 5, John Carroll Catholic High School will host Mother Adela and the relic from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Later that evening, the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Albertville will hold a Spanish Mass at 6 p.m. followed by reflection and veneration until 9 p.m.
